“Occupying the former Midland Bank, this hotel blends history with modern luxury, most notably via its numerous restaurants and live music. I especially like the rooftop pool and spa, both rare finds in central London. Its location near Bank Station makes it ideal for reaching London City Airport and exploring St. Paul's and the Tate Modern.”

Really good Stay with Nice Touches

array restaurantswide arraythoughtful gesturegood product
I appreciated the wide array of restaurants and bars available within the hotel. The room had plenty of toiletries. I even found a phone charger (I forgot mine!). The bathroom was lovely, complete with good Cowshed products (they smelled amazing!). I was also touched by the thoughtful gesture left in the room for our anniversary.
I was charged for the water in the room. I found this a little unexpected.

The building has very stylish and historic 20s decor. The location provided easy access to public transport.
The heating in my room was not working properly. The room felt dull, and the service was not good. The food was also terrible.

mixed experience at this hotel

broken switchesadditional charge
the tv casting in the room did not work , a couple of bedside switches were broken , and we had to unplug the lamps. there wasn't a proper table for two to eat at so we used trays on the sofa. midway through the stay there was also a mistaken attempt to charge an additional €250 on top of the deposit , which was unsettling. the spa staff entered the sauna without knocking to tell us it was closing soon.
