5-star hotel in a Grade I-listed former bank in London's financial district

Rooms & Suites

The Ned offers 250 bedrooms, each with design elements from the 1920s and 1930s, including vintage pieces and patterned furnishings. Rooms come with rainforest showers and a range of Cowshed toiletries. Guest rooms are spread across the historic building, with some on the 7th floor featuring iron bedsteads and large bathrooms.

Dining & Bars

The former Grand Banking Hall hosts ten restaurants serving cuisines from Britain to Northern Italy, North America to Asia. Guests can dine at Ceconi's, Millie's, or The Parlour, among others, with Sunday Feast buffets offering oysters, lobster, roast meats, and an extensive dessert counter. Nickels Bar and The Long Bar provide cocktail and whisky selections, with live music playing throughout the lobby each evening.

Spa & Wellness

Ned's Club Spa offers a variety of treatments including manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, and hair services. The spa also has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam, and steam room, though access may require a day pass (subject to availability). Fitness facilities include a gym with Technogym equipment and classes such as yoga and personal training.

Entertainment & Atmosphere

The hotel hosts live music performances six nights a week from a bandstand in the lobby, creating a lively evening scene. Evening entertainment ranges from jazz to burlesque, with the atmosphere often drawing both guests and outside visitors. The rooftop pool offers views of the London skyline, though access is restricted to members or day-pass holders.

Location & Business

The Ned is set in the City of London, steps from Bank Station which offers direct DLR connections to London City Airport in 30 minutes. St. Paul's Cathedral is a short walk away, and Oxford Street and the West End are within 15 minutes by tube. The hotel provides six private hire rooms and two terraces with reception areas for corporate events and meetings.

“Occupying the former Midland Bank, this hotel blends history with modern luxury, most notably via its numerous restaurants and live music. I especially like the rooftop pool and spa, both rare finds in central London. Really good Stay with Nice Touches

array restaurants wide array thoughtful gesture good product
I appreciated the wide array of restaurants and bars available within the hotel. The room had plenty of toiletries. I even found a phone charger (I forgot mine!). The bathroom was lovely, complete with good Cowshed products (they smelled amazing!). I was also touched by the thoughtful gesture left in the room for our anniversary.
I was charged for the water in the room. I found this a little unexpected.
Rooms
9/10
The room was clean and spacious, offering a good space to relax. The bathroom had two separate sinks and a rainfall shower (a real treat!). A well-stocked minibar was also available.
Location
9/10
The hotel provides easy access to public transportation. Getting to the airport and various shops was straightforward. I found the location very convenient for exploring the area.
Dining
9/10
The hotel had a good selection of restaurants. I enjoyed the Italian restaurant. The food and service were both great. I also appreciated the live music offered in the evenings.

The welcome was professional and warm. The staff were attentive and friendly, eager to help (I felt well looked after!). Their passion for their work was clear.

The building has very stylish and historic 20s decor. The location provided easy access to public transport.
The heating in my room was not working properly. The room felt dull, and the service was not good. The food was also terrible.

mixed experience at this hotel

broken switches additional charge
the tv casting in the room did not work , a couple of bedside switches were broken , and we had to unplug the lamps. there wasn't a proper table for two to eat at so we used trays on the sofa. midway through the stay there was also a mistaken attempt to charge an additional €250 on top of the deposit , which was unsettling. the spa staff entered the sauna without knocking to tell us it was closing soon.
